Online applications are invited from the intending and eligible candidates for filling up the following 643 vacant posts under the establishment of Chief engineer and various District level offices of Irrigation Department, Assam as stated below.
1. Subordinate Engineer, Grade-I (Civil)
No of posts: 21
Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.6,800
Educational Qualification: Certificate of Draughtsmanship in Civil or passed the two years course of 3 years Diploma Course in Civil from a Recognized Polytechnic/ Engineering institution.
2. Subordinate Engineer, Grade-I (Mechanical)

Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.6,800
Educational Qualification: Certificate of Draughtsmanship in Mechanical or passed the two years course of 3 years Diploma Course in Mechanical from a recognized Polytechnic/ Engineering institution.
3. Junior Assistant (HOD Level)
No of posts: 23
Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.6,200
Educational Qualification: A candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree from a recognized University or any examination declared equivalent by the Govt. Moreover, the candidate must possess knowledge of computer as specified below:-
(A)Candidate must have good working knowledge of office productivity software tools (independent) of any operating system i.e. MS Windows Linux Mac etc. such as,
(a)Word processor,
(b)Spreadsheet ,
(c)Presentation graphics,
(d)Concept of Database,
(e)Internet,
(f)e-mail
(B)Candidate must possess a minimum 6 (Six) months Diploma in Computer application/Knowledge from an Institute recognized by the Govt.
4. Junior Assistant (District Level)
No of posts: 159
Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.6,200
Educational Qualification: A candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree from a recognized University or any examination declared equivalent by the Govt. Moreover, the candidate must possess knowledge of computer as specified below:-
(A)Candidate must have good working knowledge of office productivity software tools (independent) of any operating system i.e. MS Windows Linux Mac etc. such as,
(a)Word processor,
(b)Spreadsheet ,
(c)Presentation graphics,
(d)Concept of Database,
(e)Internet,
(f)e-mail
(B)Candidate must possess a minimum 6 (Six) months Diploma in Computer application/Knowledge from an Institute recognized by the Govt.
5. Section Assistant (District Level)
No of posts: 397
Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.5,600
Educational Qualification: H.S.S.L.C or equivalent (10+2 Examination) passed from any recognized Board/ Council. (As per draft service Rule Submitted to the Government).
6. Power Pump Operator
No of posts: 41
Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.5,000
Educational Qualification: H.S.L.C or equivalent Examination from any recognized Board/ Council with ITI Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical or passed H.S.L.C or equivalent examination with minimum 8 years experience as Helper.
7. Primary Investigator
No of posts: 01
Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, GP-Rs.6,200
Educational Qualification: H.S.S.L.C or equivalent (10+2 Examination) passed from any recognized Board/ Council in any stream with Mathematics as one of the subject.
Age: Not below 18 (Eighteen) years and above 38 (Thirty Eight) years of age as on 01-01-2020. The upper age limit is however relaxable by 5 (five) Years in case of SC/ST and by 3 (Three) years in case of OBC as per Govt Rules.
Selection Process: OMR based written examination will be held for all category of posts at specified locations to be decided in due course of time. Where ever applicable, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a Computer Proficiency test/Skill test the date and venue of which will be notified later on. Selection of candidates shall be on the basis of OMR based written test and Computer proficiency test (As applicable). There will not be any Viva-Voce in the selection process against any of the posts.
Admit Card: After Scrutiny of applications, the Admit cards will be generated online for the candidates found eligible and they will be intimated through SMS/Mail to download their Admit cards. The candidates whose application are rejected for any reason may see the reasons for rejection in the same link.
