BASIC FEATURES OF LEADERSHIP
Based on various studies, researchers have found the following basic features leadership:
- Leadership involves leading a group of people known as followers or subordinate.
- The basic purpose of leadership is to get the works done by other.
- It is an interpersonal process in which a manager influence and guides workers toward attainment of a goal.
- Leadership requires the presence of a few qualities including intelligence, maturity, and personality on the part of the leader.
- It is a group process. It involves two or more people interacting with each other.
- A leader is involved in shaping and molding the behaviors of the group towards the accomplishment of organizational goals.
- Leadership is situations bound. There is no best style of leadership. It all depends upon tackling with the situations.
- It is the ability of a manager to induce followers to work with confidence and zeal.
